Robinson, still amazingly fit at 68-years-old, grew up in Tallahassee, Florida where he experienced many facets of adversity including both racial discrimination and in-school bullying. Naturally, he decided to take action as early as seven years old and take control of his difficult social experiences in school.
After watching a show with Jack Lalanne, Robinson thought to himself, “I want to jump with Jack.”
Robinson never doubted himself as he continued to focus on his physique to keep from being bullied—his efforts worked! He instantly became popular in high school as a student-athlete in both football and track and field. He attended the well-known Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.
Robinson was determined to make a name for himself and he continued to succeed by maintaining an optimal level of commitment in weight training.
